October 16 is going to be the day when Volvo (currently owned by Chinese Geely) unveils their first all-electric production car - that will be the electric modification of an award-winning XC40.

Meanwhile, Volvo releases several details about the car’s technology and modifications that XC40 had to face to have the electric powertrain.

Since the new version lacks the engine in front, Volvo had to strengthen the front part of the car’s body. The rear became more tough as well to fit the electric motor - it is placed in such way to direct the impact forces out of the drivetrain. There also are several deformation zones around the battery pack as well.
