Hot, all-wheel drive and electric
VW representatives told Autocar that the company will soon start working on the ID.3-based hot hatch. Likewise other sporty Volkswagen models, it should get the ‘R’ in its name.
Volkswagen claims that car to have all-wheel drive and high-performance motors. The engineering team has a lot to do to maintain the appropriate performance, range and durability ratio, so we shouldn’t expect the ID.3 R to hit the road soon. Moreover, ordinary ID.3 has quite good dynamics - for instance, it accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h faster than Golf GTI hot hatch.
Volkswagen team agrees that the hot version of all-electric ID.3 should be unveiled within 5 years.
