Volkswagen teases with new ID images ahead of preorders launch

The production version of VW ID all-electric hatchback is expected to be unveiled this September. This car is going to be the first one built on VW's MEB platform for electric vehicles.

Volkswagen claims they will start collecting preorders for the car on some markets on May 8. The automaker launched several promotional websites ahead of the launch with some new pictures of the ID production version.

Volkswagen claims to unveil the car's specs next month, though some facts are already known. For instance, the ID's max range is going to be close to 550 km (340 miles), while customers will have a choice of 3 versions of the car. The base price is expected to be below $30,000.
