This week Volkswagen reported the launch of ID.3 production. The all-electric hatchback occupied the line at Zwickau plant in Germany.
ID.3 is the first vehicle built on VW’s EV-special MEB platform. As the launch event release says, the Zwickau factory was firmly upgraded to switch to electric cars production.
First of all, the assemble line is fully automatic. There are about 1700 robots involved into the production process, and there are self-driving transportation systems used for the in-house logistics.
