Electric bike is created in cooperation with Zero Motorcycles
URAL bikes are very popular in the US, especially the 3-wheels versions with sidecars. However, URAL had never created an electric motorcycle - until now.
The bike unveiled is actually a working prototype, although, it will go to production - the company claims it will take about 2 years to launch the production version.
Electric URAL is built on a familiar platform with one-wheel drive and a sidecar. The bike is equipped with electric motor, battery packs, controller and other electronics from Zero Motorcycles.
The sidecar motorcycle configuration allows to install more batteries, that is necessary to counter the increased weight and air resistance. Electric URAL has two Zero batteries - 13 kWh and 6.5 kWh. The combined capacity is enough to cover about 103 miles (165 km). The top speed reaches 88 mph (140 km/h), though, the producer recommends cruising speed at 65 mph (105 km/h).
