Japanese Toyota is being an outsider in EV market. So far the automaker did not release any electric car that is close to volume production in the nearest future.
Finally, today Toyota unveiled the battery electric SUV named bZ4X at the Shanghai Motor show. However, the company did not provide any technical specs, despite the fact that Subaru is going to work on the vehicle’s AWD system. Also, Toyota representatives claimed that the bZ brand will be used for all Toyota’s future electric cars.
Toyota confirmed that bZ4X production will take place in Japan and China, and worldwide sales should start by the middle of 2022.
