German Hyundai’s division with an Auto Bild magazine tested the limit of a single-charge range of three Hyundai Kona cars at one of the German racetracks. All cars made over 1,000 km: 1018, 1024 and 1026 kilometers, considering the automaker’s spec of 484 km.

They used the most expensive Kona trim with 64 kWh battery pack and 204 hp motor. The average speed with lowest consumption was about 29-31 km/h that is pretty close to the average speed of city driving in large cities. Though, all drivers did not turn on the AC.

Testers were especially satisfied with the way Kona works when reaching low charge state. The car recommends to stop and charge when it reaches 8%, on 3% the car goes into the emergency mode and limits the motor power. After this the car is still able to drive about 20 km.
