Testing Tesla Model 3 Performance on top speed [video]

Electric cars are often being criticized for their inconvenience during long high-speed commutes. While continuously working on peak power, electric motors and batteries are under the risk of overheat, leading to a limited performance. Even Tesla's flagship Model S and Model X have those limitations.

However, when working on Model 3 Performance Tesla engineers seemed to work on eliminating this issue. The quickest Model 3 modification is ready to hit the racing track (and even has the Track Mode of traction control), that would have been impossible without the thorough cooling of a drivetrain.

Tesla enthusiast and blogger Bjorn Nyland tested his Model 3 Performance capabilities with a straight-out examination - he took the car to the unrestricted German autobahn and floored it until its drivetrain overheat. The result may be shocking for EV antagonists - the Tesla was able to go over 230 km/h (140 mph) for a long time, sometimes limiting its performance to 200 km/h (120 mph), but only for few moments.
