During his last week’s Battery Day speech Elon Musk announced Tesla working on a new model - cheap yet full autonomous $25,000 electric car. That car is expected to be launched in 3 years - that’s the timing necessary to establish the production of cheaper batteries using technologies presented at the Battery Day.

However, as it happens quite frequently, there is more information about new Tesla projects we get from Elon Musk’s Twitter rather than from more traditional sources. While replying to one of his followers, Musk claimed there will be two new Tesla design centers working on a cheap car - the one in Berlin and the one in Shanghai. Each will create an original vehicle for the local market. Such approach may additionally decrease the car’s cost since it will correspond to local regulations from scratch.
