Tesla updates Model Y with Standard Range version and 7-seat interior

In the end of last week Tesla updated Model Y trims range and available options list. In addition to wider choice of specs, that also reduced the starting price.

Model Y Standard Range ⠀



New entry-level trim resulted a huge decrease in Model Y’s starting price - now the SUV starts at $41,990 in the US, only slightly more expensive than Model 3. Earlier the cheapest Model Y option was Long Range trim starting at $49,990. ⠀

Tesla Model Y Standard Range is equipped with one electric motor in the rear. The range is 244 miles on a single charge, which is quite good for an SUV.

7-seat interior ⠀

Two additional seats in Model Y’s interior cost $3,000. The option is available for all trims except Performance. ⠀



In addition to the seats itself, the package includes third-row easy entry, two USB-C charging ports, second row adjustment, power folding of second and third row with trunk-located controls.
