According to the information from the Tesla Model Y online configurator page on Chinese section of Tesla’s website, the automaker sells out all SUVs that are about to be assembled at the Gigafactory Shanghai throughout Q1 2021. Yet another proof of strong demand for Model Y in China.

Tesla China started to take orders for Model Y in the region only last week - right after Gigafactory Shanghai launched its production. However, a few days later the estimated delivery time for new orders shifted to Q2 2021.

Obviously, we are not yet aware of Q1 2021 Model Y’s production plan. Considering that the car was just launched in China, the first wave may be relatively small.
