We’ve already mentioned that Tesla Autopilot got a traffic controls and stop signs recognition function and is already able to stop the vehicle if necessary. Though, previously the update was available only for early access program owners. Last Friday the software update finally was released for everyone.
The 2020.12.6 software update release notes say that electric cars recognize green, red and blinking yellow, as well as off lights, reducing speed when approaching the intersection. If there are no obstacles to drive through, the driver may just press the accelerator pedal. Additionally, Tesla notices the feature to be in beta stage, so it may work incorrectly in some cases and improve through the time.
