Obviously, nowadays it is better to stay home if there is no any kind of emergency. Though, such situation won’t last forever, so we may take our time and think what perks Tesla vehicles have for comfortable travelling.

The Camp Mode is not new - it was launched with one of Tesla firmware updates several months ago. Anyway, it became more worthy with Model Y launch since the new SUV perfectly fits the idea of a family weekend in nature.

To activate it simply tap the fan icon at the bottom of Tesla’s central display and put the Keep Climate On setting into CAMP mode. Before that make sure the car is in PARK.

While the Camp mode is on your Tesla will keep the climate control, interior lightning, multimedia and power outlets working. Moreover, the central display would show the wallpaper with a cozy campfire with a Cybertruck silhouette at the background — a little easter egg from Tesla that gives even more comfort to the atmosphere inside the vehicle.

Definitely, Camp Mode requires some energy while working. However, Tesla owners reviews mostly say that it consume not that much — 1-2% per hour on average.

For instance, Youtube channel i1Tesla host Brian Jenkins checked the real energy drain on Camp Mode in Model Y. He stopped for a rest with 70% of initial charge and the battery lost only about 10% after 9 hours in Camp Mode, despite working climate and central screen throughout the night.
