Tesla Model X went off the road to a dangerous slope, autopilot saved the day

We have already heard many stories about Tesla cars’ incredible safety, though the today’s case is one of the most exciting.

Model X owner Justin Bowen was driving his electric car at the twisty downhill road during a freezing lightning storm, when he made a mistake and lost control of a vehicle at one of the turns. The car went off the road to a slope of about 70 degrees.

Justin claims the Autopilot wasn’t active before the accident, though the car applied Automatic Emergency Braking automatically. Model X not only didn’t flip thanks to its low center of gravity, but also safely stopped. Its owner wasn’t hurt at all, walking out of the car and brought it back to the road the next day with a tow car.
