As you may know, Tesla Model S and Model X in Performance trims have a special Launch Mode which allows to accelerate from standing still as quickly as possible, utilizing all resources the electric car has. In order to bring it on, simply step on the brake pedal, then floor the accelerator and once you are ready to go just release the brakes.
Even though Tesla’s flagship models already accelerate hypercar-like fast, it seems that they are going to be even faster. The upcoming software update leak confirms the upgraded Launch Mode that utilizes the active air suspension.
The suspension is going to make what may be called the ‘cheetah stance’. It lowers the front part of the oar before the start. This should bring more traction for the front wheels, decrease the amount of air going under the car’s body when it accelerates and ease the air outflow behind the car.
Anyway, Tesla does not share any details on specs and the date of a new functionality release.
