One of the best things about Tesla cars is the software. Or, to be more specific, the firmware updates, that regularly bring new features and advantages, which cost nothing to cars owners.

Back to the Tesla Model 3 Standard launch last month, Elon Musk announced software updates for all versions of Model 3 coming shortly. According to his words at the time, the updates should increase the max range on a single charge and the peak power output.

Finally, at the end of last week first Model 3 Long Range owners started receiving one of the promised updates. The 2019.5.15 version of Tesla firmware increased the rear-wheel drive Model 3 Long Range range capabilities by 15 miles (approx. 25 km). Now the total EPA range reaches 325 miles (523 km).

Then, all Model 3 owners received yet another update 2019.8.2, increasing the power output of electric motors. On average, the peak power increased by 5% based on the Model 3 version. For instance, Model 3 Performance top speed grew to 162 mph (261 km/h) because of the latest software update.
