This week Electrek reported about some clarification in Tesla Semi production launch timing referring to the source familiar with the matter.
Last week Tesla purchased a 500,000 sq feet building near the Gigafactory 1 in Nevada. Its purpose was unclear until today.
According to the information obtained by Electrek, this building is being prepared to house the trial Tesla Semi assembly line. According to the source, the line is about to produce up to 5 trucks per week. The launch date is yet unstated.
Tesla Semi mass production is going to take place at the new Gigafactory in Texas as planned. It should start shortly after Tesla ramps up 4680 cells production there.
