Tesla had already brought several Model S based prototypes to Nordschleife last month, that turned out to be the prototypes of a new three-motor Plaid drivetrain. After beating Porsche Taycan’s best lap time (without official timing) with about 20 seconds advantage, Model S prototypes were taken away from the racing track for a further setup.
Finally, Plaid prototypes are back to Nordschleife again. And it seems that they became even faster - check the Automotive Mike video.
After the prototypes were spotted on the track Elon Musk tweeted planned timing for Model S Plaid becoming available for purchase - it is planned for summer 2020.
