At the end of last week we learned that Tesla is currently working on a new Model Y Long Range modification with rear-wheel drive.

Longer range is the main advantage of such SUV. According to Elon Musk’s tweet, now RWD Model Y is going through range tests. Musk is sure that it will go far beyond 300 miles (480 km) that is very good for any EV, especially the SUV one.

As a reminder, AWD Model Y is capable of driving 316 miles (508 km) on a single charge. Considering the RWD modification to be lighter and demanding less energy per mile, we can expect some solid range figures.
