It seems that Tesla Gigafactory in Germany will be launched a bit earlier than expected. European Model Y configurator shows that first deliveries in Europe are scheduled for mid 2021.
Model Y will be the first Tesla to be assembled in Berlin. The automaker follows its strategy to launch that SUV on the given market only if there is a local Tesla factory in the region. That’s exactly what happened in China, and now German Gigafactory is about to follow, supplying the entire European region.
The timing stated in Model Y’s configurator claims that first stage of Berlin’s Gigafactory is about to launch in a few months. Also, European Model Y will differ with several things - 4680 cells, new type of batteries integrated into the car’s body, and two-part body made with Giga Press.
