Following other automakers, Nissan is about to enter young, yet extremely promising electric pickup trucks market. Bloomberg learned from people familiar with the matter, that Nissan is in talks with a startup named Hercules Electric Vehicles, that is working on its own pickup. Rumors suggest that Nissan is considering to purchase Hercules’ electric powertrain in order to launch its own electric car, probably based on a Titan truck, which is very popular in the US.

Such alliance between the legacy automaker and young EV startup is not uncommon. There are such examples even in the electric pickup market - for instance, Ford spent $500 million for the access to Rivian’s drivetrain and chassis.
