In addition to its Q2 2020 financial report Tesla also published a shareholders’ letter, including several pieces of important information on company’s future. One of that points confirmed the location of a new Tesla Gigafactory in the US - the company finally made a deal with Austin, Texas.
⠀
Actually, it was known for a while - first insights about Austin as the place for a new factory were coming back to May 2020. However, Tesla had to receive approval from several levels of local government before making the deal official. Finally, that was made, as well a solid incentive package, including significant tax breaks.

Also, Tesla confirmed that the new US Gigafactory will produce at least two models - Model Y and Cybertruck. Elon Musk earlier confirmed the latter to be launched by the end of 2021.
