Last year Mercedes unveiled the EQS - the pre-production concept of a large electric sedan which is expected to be the analogue of a traditional S-class for plug-in Mercedes’ lineup. According to the Autocar, EQS will get an AMG version.
When speaking of traditional Mercedes cars with regular gas engines, AMGs are the fastest versions of Mercedes models frequently being absolutely different cars. However it’s yet unclear how the EQS AMG will stand out, but Autocar confirms (linking to an unnamed source at Mercedes) that it would have over 600 hp and 900 Nm.
So far Mercedes claims EQS to enter production in late 2021 with first arrivals to dealerships in early 2022. Very likely EQS AMG won’t make it to production any earlier.
