Reliable range and stunning design
Soul EV is Kia's flagship electric vehicle for a while - the first-gen car deserved its success with many fans in all markets where it was available officially. Now Kia unveils a new generation of Soul EV at the LA Auto Show.
First of all, the new car differs with a bigger battery pack - 2020 Soul EV is equipped with 64 kWh battery, already familiar by Niro EV and Hyundai Kona. Kia doesn't tell the exact range of a new Soul EV, though Kona with the same battery pack can travel up to 258 miles (415 km), meaning the Soul's real range will definitely surpass 200 miles (300 km).
Moreover, the electric car got a new motor with 201 hp output and CCS charging hub. The CCS standard is growing worldwide and Korean automaker preferred it over CHAdeMO that was chosen for the first-gen Soul EV.
Kia claims that Soul EV will enter production in second half of 2019 for the 2020 model year.
