Today Kia Motors has a honor of being one of the world’s largest automakers. Considering the pace of the EV market growth, in the nearest future the company would have to defend this title with a bunch of electric cars in the lineup.

Last week Kia introduced a new strategy at the Investor Day called Plan S. Pretty obviously, the main part of the plan consists of expanding the lineup with new electric models. Kia plans to invest $25m to carry it.

The strategy implementation would begin with introduction of a new BEV in 2021. The Kia’s lineup should be expanded with 11 electric cars in total by the end of 2025, and during that period those electric models are expected to conquer about 6,6% of the global EV market (excluding China). By 2026 Kia would deliver the total of 500,000 BEVs and 1 million of eco-friendly cars. Electric model should count at least 20% of the company’s total output.
