The project is called Vector and actually is a flat chassis platform with a battery pack, electric motors, drivetrain, self-driving tech and other necessary equipment. Such platform allows to create vehicles of various types with low cost.

The unveiled prototype of Vector is a van with four slide doors, two on each side. Its layout allows to create a spacious environment inside the cabin. The presented configuration has 4 seats which may turn around - such feature would be great in combination with self-driving features. By the way, the road tests of JLR’s autonomous vehicles are launching soon - the automaker managed to get the government permission and the tests should begin in 2021.
