Third row of seats was announced as one of the Model Y's advantages back to its unveiling event last year. It means that the car may be transformed into a 7-seater in case of need. Though, considering the fact Model Y is designed on top of a compact Model 3 platform, there is a question in the air whether the SUV would really fit two adults to those optional seats with appropriate comfort.

Recently two images of a Model Y's third row appeared on some Japanese forum. Seats were shot through the opened trunk door. One may notice a shortage of space for third row occupants legs. Though, if you look to the floor under second row seats you would notice those seats to be almost fully moved back. When they are moved forward there will be much more space in third row of seats.

Additionally, it is pretty clear that there is enough space for passenger's shoulders. The third row is quite wide, even having some space for two cupholders between the seats.
