Last week Hummer unveiled the SUV version of its electric Hummer EV. At the first sight there seem to be not many differences between both cars, though it’s not 100% true.

According to the official data, Hummer EV SUV top version will have 830 hp of total power output, compared to 1,000 hp in the most expensive pickup truck version. The Hummer EV engineering team already claimed that the SUV will be equipped with a smaller battery pack. The automaker had to do this because of a shorter wheelbase compared to a pickup. That’s actually the reason for a different output - in order to keep the range identical to a pickup version, the automaker decreased Hummer EV SUV’s power so that the drivetrain consumed less power.

Another major thing which differs the SUV from the pickup version is the launch date. It is going to hit the market much later - limited Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 will be available only in the early 2023, followed by more affordable trims in throughout 2024.
