Google Maps adds EV chargers around the world

Getting to the nearest charging point becomes easier.


Today there are several online maps services providing the EV charging stations geo position. Though, so far major mapping services ignored those objects.

Last week Google announced that they will add chargers of several providers to their Google Maps service. The nearest stations will be displayed via “EV charging stations” or similar keywords.

Google Maps will show information about the business where the station is located, the types of ports available, charging speeds, and number of charging ports. User-generated information will also be displayed, including photos, ratings and reviews.

So far Google Maps supports the following charging networks:

Global: Tesla, Chargepoint
US: SemaConnect, EVgo, Blink
UK: Chargemaster, Pod Point
AU & NZ: Chargefox
