Ford unveiled F-150 Lightning



Throughout last decades Ford F-150 takes leading position among pickups worldwide. Finally, Ford launches the electric version of its bestseller, creating competition for Tesla Cybertruck, Hummer EV and Rivian R1T. And the specs Ford announced confirms F-150 has all chances to become a leader in a new segment. 

The first thing which is about to make up some audience for F-150 Lightning in the US is the price. It will start from less than $40,000, considering that it will come AWD as standard. 


F-150 Lightning has combined output of 571 hp, and the pickup will accelerate 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. Ford is about to provide customers with two various battery packs, for 370 and 480 km of range. 

One of F-150 Lightning main features is its ability to serve as a power supply for domestic use. Ford claims electric F-150 can power up private household with average daily use of 30 kWh for three days in a row. And F-150 will be able to restore its charge quite quickly, since the onboard charger is capable of charging up from 15% to 100% in 8 hours from domestic outlet. 



Ford confirms first F-150 Lightning will be delivered to customers in 2022. It’s already possible to order the pickup with $100 deposit.
