A few weeks ago BMW confirmed 5-series and 7-series to have all-electric versions in next generations. Now Motor Authority reports that 3-series will also have electric trim by the end of 2021 or beginning of 2022.

Technologically that vehicle is expected to be like BMW iX3 which is about to launch. This means electric 3-series to have approximately 74 kWh battery pack, 450 km (280 miles) range and 286 hp electric motor.

No the ‘most electric’ BMW 3-series one can order is a 330e trim. That’s a plug-in hybrid with a pair of 2.0-litre turbo gas motor and 113 hp electric motor with 12 kWh battery pack. Such BMW may drive about 60-70 km on electric power only.
