Daimler Trucks, the German automaker’s division producing commercial vehicles, is working on its Tesla Semi competitor. Recent Daimler’s press-release showed that the new truck will be called Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul.

Noticeable, that Mercedes-Benz eActros name is already in use for the shorter range urban truck. Those cars are now being tested by potential European owners in real-life conditions.

eActros LongHaul concept differs by its range which is the most important. The semi-truck is expected to be capable of 500 km commute - the figure doesn’t seem amazing considering Tesla Semi for instance, though it may be alright for short European commutes.

Daimler expects that eActros LongHaul production version will be ready in 2024.
