The new BMW’s electric car - sedan i4 - stepped into production in the end of last week. i4’s are assembled at the Munich plant, right by BMW headquarters in Germany.

It is expected that first European deliveries would take place in upcoming weeks. i4 is equipped with 84 kWh battery pack, has about 590 km of range. Two-motor drivetrain with 530 hp makes i4 accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4 seconds. However, single-motor versions are expected to follow.

BMW consider i4 as a major step towards global lineup electrification - the automaker is about to make at least half of all cars assembled in Munich electrified by 2023.
