Aerodynamics enhancing is one of the most reliable ways to improve the electric vehicle efficiency without adding more battery cells. Special wheel covers or rims design allows to decrease the drag coefficient, thus enhancing the efficiency.
While preparing to unveil several new electric cars soon (including iX3 crossover and i4 sedan) BMW already created and showed special Aero Wheels for them. According to the automaker’s release, those rims may increase the efficiency up to 30% compared to regular wheels. iX3 which is planned to be launched in 2020 is expected to be the first BMW to fit those wheels.
