BMW i3’s lifetime is coming closer to the end - a few days ago German automaker confirmed the electric car is about to leave the market in 2022. And there will be no next generation, neither any heir.
BMW claimed that the reason behind i3 termination is the electrification of BMW’s general lineup. For instance, there are evidences that the company is preparing to launch the electric 1-series hatchback and compact iX1 crossover - both models would take the i3’s place.
BMW i3 had quite long lifecycle. First production cars entered the market in 2013.
