BMW is preparing to launch a series of a next-gen electric cars. Compact SUV iX3 is going to be the first one entering the market in 2020. Today the automaker shared the battery pack specs and range information.
iX3 will be equipped with a 74 kWh battery pack. BMW claims it being much more technologically advanced than the previous generation. For instance, it is said to require 2/3 less cobalt and have 30% better ratio between motor output and weight of the drive system compared to the existing BMW i lineup.

BMW claims iX3 to be able to travel about 440 km (273 miles) on a single charge. This stands for quite high efficiency, though we will see exactly next year when iX3 comes to market.
