Aston Martin first announced its electric project Rapide-E back to 2015. Two years after British automaker unveiled the production version of an electric sedan and announced the cooperation with Williams F1 team while developing the car.
However, earlier this week Autocar’s source close to Aston Martin reported that the automaker kills the Rapide-E program, meaning those cars won’t be produced. There were 155 units of Rapide-E planned for production and Aston Martin doesn’t disclose how many orders did they have.

Though, Aston Martin claims that Rapide-E technologies won’t be simply thrown away - the automaker will use the car as an EV research project for the further lineup electrification.
