Toyota was one of the automakers to invest more into hybrids and fuel-cell vehicles than EVs for a long time. Though, at the end of last week Toyota Executive Vice President Shigeki Terashi said they are going for a more active electrification - more precisely, Toyota plans for half of its global sales to be electrified vehicles by 2025.

The original plan introduced over a year ago was to reach the stated aim by 2030. Despite more ambitious plans on EVs, the automaker is not going to prioritize any specific type of vehicles - along with all-electric cars, Toyota will continue its work on hybrids and FCVs. In order to achieve its aims in EV plans, Toyota announced that it is partnering with Chinese manufacturers CATL and BYD to secure the batteries supply.

Finally, Toyota release a few teaser images of its EV concepts. The first among them is scheduled to be launched already next year.
