The base version of Tesla Model S - Standard Range - was introduced only about 3 weeks ago after the $35,000 Model 3 launch. Such car's price was $4,000 lower than the next level Model S Long Range, and it had a range of 270 miles (435 km).

At the end of last week Model S Standard Range was discontinued and dropped from the configurator. Now it is possible to order the flagship Tesla vehicle in any of two versions: either Long Range with 335 miles (540 km) range or Performance with 315 miles (507 km) range.
