Last week PSA (the alliance of Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, DS and several others) unveiled a new modular platform for electric cars. The platform is called eVMP and is created for C-class and D-class vehicles. PSA confirmed its plans of full transition to electrified platforms by 2025 instead of architectures that fit various types of drivetrains.

eVMP is compatible with battery packs from 60 to 100 kWh which provide 400-650 km of range. Also, the platform supports gasoline-powered range extenders. PSA engineers are specially proud of the platform’s design which allowed to fit 50+ kWh into each 1 m of a wheelbase.
