New models launch timing

Facts about Tesla's new models are the most discussed theme of each year's shareholders meeting. This year is not an exception, especially considering the number of cars being under development today.

Elon Musk clarified that new models launch is based on battery cells production - it should be increased in order to provide enough batteries meeting the demand for new cars.

Tesla Model Y SUV is named company's top priority after Model 3, thus becoming the next one to enter the market. Musk claims we can expect it to go into production in fall 2020, though the company's internal deadline is more agressive.

Tesla's much anticipated pickup - actually being called 'Cyberpunk Truck' by Musk himself - is not expected to enter production so soon. However, Tesla may unveil the prototype by the end of summer 2019.

Tesla Semi production is delayed to next year, even though it was highly expected to be launched in 2019. Musk sees it to enter production closer to late 2020.

Finally, there is still no precise timeline for Roadster launch. Musk said the supercar is not the priority for the company - that is why Roadster is probably unlike to enter the market before any model featured above.

Over 400 miles range

Battery tech was one of the key Musk's point during his speech - or, to be more specific, Tesla's progress in creating the more efficient batteries and cells.

Musk stressed, that Tesla vehicles are so far the most energy efficient electric cars today. Still there are no any EVs having higher range than Model S launched in 2012.

Moreover, Tesla keeps on creating more advanced battery technologies. Musk claimed it will not take long to wait for the car able to travel over 400 miles on a single charge - there are new modifications of Tesla vehicles coming to the market that will be able to do this. Probably, refreshed Model S and Model X should be the first of those.
