According to the recent research the share of electric cars at the general passenger cars sales during the first half of 2019 in Norway reached 50%. But it turns out that Germany is actually leading the EV sales in Europe.

According to the Handelsblatt electric vehicles sales in Germany reached 48,000 units after first 6 months of this year, compared to 44,000 in Norway.

However, the Germany's leadership is a result of the market size that is much bigger in Germany. If we check the share of EVs in the total number of cars sold during the first half of 2019, the value will be equal 2,6% in Germany vs almost 50% in Norway.

Globally, Germany holds the 3rd position in EV sales value in 2019. The second is USA with 149,000 cars, and the global leader is China with 628,000 electric cars sold.
